Trip descriptions.

All tours are day trips and are located on Maryland's Eastern Shore; 4-5 hours with stops; easy paddles. Basic instruction included. General map of trip locations. Pricing, 2007

 

Freshwater Streams.

Paddle streams which wind through overhanging trees in these wooded wetland landscapes. Various species of forest birds, turtles and other forest dwelling animals (otter, beaver) can be observed.

Tuckahoe River. Easy paddle.

 


Tidal Rivers.

Follow the tide as you paddle past brackish water marshes with mixed vegetation and venture up small tidal creeks with many bends, twists and turns. Watch as ospreys fish for their next meal and red-winged blackbirds sing from perches on the marsh grasses. Wonder at the beauty of northern cypress swamps and nearly submerged forests.

Choptank, Nanticoke, Pocomoke Rivers.
Easy paddle.

 

Salt Marshes.

Paddle through extensive marshes studded with pine islands which have been described as the Everglades of the Mid-Atlantic region. You will see bald eagles, various wading birds, and experience the changing landscape of a sinking wetland.

Blackwater NWR, Wye Island. Easy-Moderate paddle.
